Canavan's Cookstown Champions
Peter Canavan has led Holy Trinity Cookstown to Ulster glory by beating his old school St Ciaran's Ballygawley.
The 2003 All Ireland winning captain saw Holy Trinity pull clear to win the Ulster Bank Markey Cup Final at Healy Park in Omagh on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-8.
'It's a great day for Holy Trinity and for these lads who are great ambassadors for the school'.
The Markey Cup is the Vocational Schools equivalent of the Danske Bank MacRory Cup and Canavan feels there is an imbalance in media coverage.
'It's a shame for the lads that they don't get the recognition they should be getting. We've played Bessbrook and the CBS and we're on a par if not better'.
